What Is Sleep Apnea?
It is a sleeping disorder where breathing repeatedly starts and stops during sleep. There are two common types of sleep apnea: central and obstructive. Central apnea occurs when the brain isn’t sending the proper signals to the lungs during the sleep cycle. Obstructive apnea happens when the soft tissues in the back of the throat relax and collapse during sleep, blocking the airway.
Signs of Sleep Apnea
Wondering if you have sleep apnea? It can be difficult to spot signs since most happen when you’re asleep, but we advise having a friend or family member be on the lookout for those and there are a few that you can watch for while you’re awake.
- Chronic Snoring

Oral Appliance Therapy
We create custom-fitted oral appliances to help our patients combat obstructive sleep apnea. Our oral appliances reposition the jaw to keep the soft tissues from obstructing the airway. Oral appliance therapy is a great alternative for patients looking for an alternative to the CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine. If you have sleep apnea and think you may be a great candidate for oral appliance therapy, please contact our office to schedule your consultation!
